eBook Publishing Terms

Your guide to publishing your eBook with Xilvora Ink

1. Introduction

Welcome to Xilvora Ink's eBook Publishing Terms. This document outlines our approach to digital publishing and the terms under which we collaborate with authors to bring their works to digital readers worldwide.

As an innovative publishing startup, we've designed our eBook publishing program to offer authors maximum flexibility, competitive royalties, and professional support—all while keeping the process straightforward and transparent.

These terms govern the relationship between authors and Xilvora Ink for eBook publishing. They are intended to be read in conjunction with the specific Publishing Agreement you'll receive upon manuscript acceptance.

2. Author Eligibility

2.1 Who Can Publish

Xilvora Ink accepts submissions from:

  • First-time authors
  • Previously published authors
  • International authors (with works in English or eligible for translation)
  • Authors with works previously published elsewhere (subject to rights availability)

2.2 Content Guidelines

We publish a wide range of content, including fiction, non-fiction, poetry, and academic works. However, we do not accept:

  • Content that promotes hate speech or discrimination
  • Content that infringes on copyright or other intellectual property rights
  • Content that violates applicable laws or regulations
  • Content with excessive grammatical or formatting errors

2.3 Quality Standards

All submitted manuscripts undergo a quality assessment. While we don't expect perfection, we look for works that demonstrate:

  2. Upload your manuscript in Word (.docx), RTF, or PDF format
  3. Include a brief synopsis (500 words maximum)
  4. Provide author bio and contact information

4.2 Formatting Guidelines

While we will professionally format your eBook, initial submissions should follow these basic guidelines:

  • Double-spaced text in a standard font (Times New Roman, Arial, etc.)
  • Page numbers included
  • Chapter breaks clearly marked
  • Limited use of special formatting

4.3 Review Timeline

We aim to review all submissions within 4-6 weeks. You will receive an email notification of our decision, along with next steps if your manuscript is selected for publication.

Please note that due to high submission volumes, we cannot provide personalized feedback on rejected manuscripts. Multiple submissions of the same manuscript within a 6-month period are discouraged.

5. Rights & Licensing

5.1 Rights Granted

When publishing with Xilvora Ink, you grant us:

  • Non-exclusive digital publishing rights to publish, distribute, and sell your eBook
  • The right to create and use metadata associated with your eBook for marketing and distribution
  • The right to format and convert your manuscript into various eBook formats

5.2 Rights Retained

As the author, you retain:

  • Copyright ownership of your original content
  • Print publishing rights (unless specifically included in your agreement)
  • Audio rights for audiobook creation
  • Film, TV, and other adaptation rights
  • Translation rights (though we offer translation services if desired)
  • The right to publish with other publishers after any exclusivity period ends

5.3 Term Length

Our standard publishing term is 3 years from the date of publication, automatically renewable for 1-year periods unless terminated by either party with 60 days' notice before the end of the current term.

Our non-exclusive approach means you can maintain existing publishing arrangements (subject to your other agreements) or pursue new opportunities while working with us. This differs significantly from traditional publishers who typically require exclusive rights.

6. Royalties & Payments

6.1 Royalty Structure

Xilvora Ink offers some of the most competitive royalty rates in the industry:

  • Essential Package: 50% of net revenue
  • Advanced Package: 60% of net revenue
  • Premium Package: 70% of net revenue

Net revenue is defined as the amount received by Xilvora Ink after retailer discounts and transaction fees are deducted from the list price.

  • Retailer commission: $3.00 (30% of $9.99)
